I can’t tell you how many times I used to print articles on, for example, search engine optimization or direct marketing and after a while the articles start to pile up

Business owners and managers of small and medium-sized businesses have a new way of meeting their need for relevant business information. DBH Communications, Inc. today announced the launch of bizSugar.com (bizsugar.com), a social news and bookmarking site.
bizSugar.com allows users to discover, share and vote for their favorite tips, trends, news and business strategies on the web. “By letting users vote on the interest or usefulness of each item, bizSugar leverages the combined wisdom of our members,” said bizSugar.com founder John Holsen. “It helps us create a repository of the best business knowledge and allows our members to spend less time reading fluffs.”
Social bookmarking sites have been around for a while, but the most popular sites cover a wide range of topics. According to Holsen, bizSugar.com represents a trend towards smaller niche sites that focus on a narrow range of topics.
âI was disappointed when I first started visiting social bookmarking sites because, while they were great for finding entertaining or controversial stories, their business sections offered little practical help to the entrepreneur in need. time, âHolsen said. “I knew that a site focusing solely on business information aimed at small and medium-sized businesses could benefit the business community.”
Visitors to the bizSugar.com website can view all submitted stories and video links or focus on specific categories such as Marketing, Finance, Management, or Technology. The sidebars showcase the most voted stories of the week as well as the most recently submitted articles.
bizSugar.com also allows users to archive their links to their favorite stories. âI can’t tell you how many times I printed articles on, say, search engine optimization or direct marketing and after a while the articles started to add up,â Holsen said. âThen when you’re finally ready to read a story, you can’t find it. To resolve this issue, bizSugar.com allows users to save the links of their articles on the site’s web servers until they are needed.
Additionally, bizSugar.com members using âReally Easy Syndication,â or RSS, can subscribe to feeds on specific subject categories such as advertising, employee benefits, or international trade. This allows users to be notified of the latest relevant articles as soon as they are deemed worthy of publication on the bizSugar.com homepage, based on member votes.
Like many social media sites, bizSugar.com allows members to network with other members with similar interests. âLet’s say you just finished blogging about a great small business idea and decided to submit it to bizSugar. Later, you can go back and see who agrees with your proposal by voting and commenting on your article, âHolsen explained. âFrom there, our messaging system makes it easy to contact these members. “
Holsen has already received positive feedback on this new service. âI spoke with business owners who were using bizSugar during the testing phase and many told me that they immediately found it to be an invaluable tool,â he said. “As one member said, ‘Now when I find a small business news article that I like, I always give them a little sugar! ‘ We liked his comment so much that we made it one of our catchphrases. “
