The Epf-Aadhaar link deadline will end on December 31; Here is a step by step guide to link Aadhaar to Uan

The organization of the employee provident fund (EPFO), the body of the pension fund, has made it compulsory to link the Aadhaar card with the universal account number (UAN) to obtain the PF contributions from employers and ‘other advantages. The same must be done by December 31, 2021.

Failure to do so will result in the removal of employers’ contribution to the EPF account as they will not be able to file an electronic Challan cum declaration (ECR) from EPF accounts not linked to Aadhaar.

Employees will also not be able to benefit from other EPFO services in the absence of Aadhaar verification.

The EPFO had decided to make the seeding of Aadhaar compulsory after a notification from the Ministry of Labor in this regard. Thus, subscribers who still have not linked their Aadhaar to the PF account should do what is necessary.
EPFO has also stated that it is the employer’s responsibility to ensure that its employees link their provident account to their Aadhar number.

Here are the steps to link an EPF account to Aadhaar online:

Step 1:

Visit the EPFO Member Portal and log in using a username and password.

2nd step: Navigate to the “Manage” option on the top menu bar.

Step 3: Select the “KYC” option from the drop-down list.

Step 4: A new page opens which contains a list of the different types of documents. Select “Aadhaar” to link to the EPF account.

Step 5: Enter Aadhaar number and name according to Aadhaar card and click on save option.

Step 6: Once Aadhaar details are registered, Aadhaar will be verified against UIDAI data.

Step 7: After successful approval of your KYC document, users will be able to successfully link Aadhaar with EPF account and they will find “Verified” written against Aadhaar details.
